Alma's love affair with good food started at an early age in her Mother's small restaurant in Matamoros, Mexico. She loved the smell that emanated from the molcajete as her Mom, Margarita, grounded the cumin, garlic, and black pepper for her soups. Young Alma grew up in her Mom's kitchen and picked up lots of cooking skills from watching Margarita. As an adult, her exposure to different world cuisines expanded her palate and refined her taste buds. Alma takes pride in making her menu items from scratch from original recipes. Since adopting a plant-based diet in 2013, she's learned to experiment and explore new flavors with various herbs and spices. She is working on exploring more of her Mexican roots when it comes to cuisine and bring it at all to her food truck menu. She lives in Dallas, Texas and is an avid enthusiast of her black cat Dio.
Maribel has always enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family with fancy dinners at home. After a while they started encouraging her to start her own restaurant since her dinners were always exquisite. In time, she did just that, in the form of a food truck. Maribel is a woman of many interests and she is also a published author. In 2017, she published her first novel, Sangre Matriarca, and she is currently focusing her efforts in her writing career. Occasionally, she collaborates with Down to Earth on large events and festivals. She makes her home between DFW and St. Louis, MO. and has a brand new grandson. She is an avid hiker and reader of books.
